Actor Jake Gyllenhaal is deeply “in love” with girlfriend Reese Witherspoon, according to his producer pal Ryan Kavanaugh.

The “Brokeback Mountain” hunk has been romantically involved with divorced mother-of-two Witherspoon since meeting on the set of their 2007 film “Rendition.”

And Kavanaugh, who worked with the actor on forthcoming film “Brothers,” insists the “Legally Blonde” beauty could be “the one” for Gyllenhaal.

He tells People.com, “I just think he loves her.

“(Jake) has obviously had his fair share of dating. I think eventually you come to a place where you know what you want and seeing what we saw on the set, he was certainly completely devoted to her and really loves her.”

A pal tells America’s ‘Life & Style’ magazine that Gyllenhaal and pal Fischer are looking at real estate in Los Angeles - with a view to opening their own place.

Just how serious is Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon’s relationship?

“I just think he loves her,” Gyllenhaal’s producer pal Ryan Kavanaugh told PEOPLE at the 23rd Annual “Salute to Youth” dinner in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Kavanaugh produced the actor’s upcoming film, Brothers, which he calls a “passion project.”

“[Jake] has obviously had his fair share of dating,” Kavanaugh says of Gyllenhaal’s romantic life. “I think eventually you come to a place where you know what you want and seeing what we saw on the set, he was certainly completely devoted to her and really loves her.”

Over the course of the film, the producer really got to know Gyllenhaal, 27. “He’s awesome,” says Kavanaugh. “He’s a true artist and a really good guy. We used to workout every morning before going on the set so he became a good friend, too.”

Jake Gyllenhaal and Reese Witherspoon continue to be one of Hollywood’s cutest and most low-key couples. The pair, along with Witherspoon’s kids, Ava and Deacon, went on a little spring break of their own in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, according to Us Weekly.

They trip got off to a bumpy start. Gyllenhaal is on crutches and Witherspoon had an allergic reaction to strawberries on the flight to Mexico, but once they arrived at their rented home on the El Dorado Golf and Beach Club, Us reports that gang settled in well.

The magazine’s eyewitness said that “the kids loved the pool. It was hard to tear them away from the water.” And although the group had a private chef, “Reese and Jake both did a lot of cooking.”

Ryan Phillippe says it’s strange to see ex-wife Reese Witherspoon with her new boyfriend, Jake Gyllenhaal.

“It’s bizarre,” the actor told USA Today Wednesday, adding that he avoids looking at photos of Witherspoon and Gyllenhaal.

“There’s plenty of times when I say, ‘What a strange situation I’ve found myself in,’” he said. “But at a certain point you know it’s going to happen, so you are prepared.”
